Welcome to the Universe of Imagination!
Action Figure Universe, where the comparative mythology of Joseph Campbell meets pop culture & modern mass media memorabilia, is an interactive entertainment
scrapbook & resource site, all about figures of action & adventure of the mythic past, present &
future, as they appear in their various forms in human history, popular art & the ever-expanding collectible toy market.
For me, collecting, enjoying & studying action figures isn't just about childhood memories. It's an
important part of personal growth & self-actualization, as well as a fun way to remain creative & imaginative throughout life's amazing journey.
Many of the action characters (heroes & villains alike) you will find here were conceived for adults, while others
were originally intended for a younger audience. Bearing in mind that no one is ever too old to be young at heart, I
bid you welcome to the Action Figure Universe.
While you're
here, feel free to explore the boundless reaches of child-like wonder & imagination that have long inspired people
of all ages to not just dream, but to do, create & of course, PLAY. As you step beyond the threshold of the so-called "real world," take
heart & remember...
"The
more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play."

Space: 1999 Action Figures from CTVT
They're back! Well... actually, they've
been out for several years now, but who's counting? Yes, Space; 1999 action figures that are more than reminiscent
of the classic line of MEGO character toys that these newer figures are based on are still available at very modest
prices from CTVT's online Web store. Be forewarned however, these toys, as nice as they are, may need replacement
body parts and some good old fashioned tender loving care from a somewhat knowledgeable toy enthusiast.

1999 page.

Big
Bang Theory Action Figures? Calling all customizers out there in the vast Action Figure Universe! Our humble 1:1 scale
world needs realistic toy replicas based on the five main characters of the hilarious hit CBS sitcom, The Big Bang Theory!
Amazingly enough, even after more than four consecutive years of rapidly escalating popularity and resounding ratings success,
all this has yet to convince any major, big name toy manufacturers to release more high quality products based on the
show.
Yes folks, with
the exception of frequent bobblehead maker Funko, and the usual host of t-shirt producers, The Big Bang Theory and its cast
of quirky characters continue to be snubbed, despite the highly lucrative potential in the license. Even further, in
spite of the fact that the show is already extensively linked to the toy and collectibles industry via the sheer number
of nerdy genre film and TV references that are frequently sited on a weekly basis by many of the lead characters,
who also just happen to COLLECT ACTION FIGURES!
Surely, this blatant neglect is a crime of epic proportions!
But... until somebody wises up and gives the world what it truly needs; Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Howard and Raj action figures
(that will hopefully rival the attention usually lavished on such perennially hot properties as Star Trek and Star Wars),
there's always the art of customizing. So, let's get to it, geeky (but ever so intelligent) brothers and sisters!

Space: 1999 Becomes Space: 2099... AGAIN!
Here's a GREAT IDEA! Take a cult classic scifi
TV series that has actually gotten a bit too dated and inaccurate over the years and retrofit it George Lucas style!
That's right. Digitally enhance and edit the production so that, in the end, you've still got that wonderful
vintage show, but it's in a shiny new, up to date package, that is sure to please old and new fans alike! Yeah!
Until... that is, you've finally worked long and hard enough to convince the actual owners of the property that
your favorite old show is bankable for a whole new generation, and then... they up and do the unthinkable! They decide
to go with your stellar idea, but... they go off and "reboot" the entire series without you instead! Well,
it happened with Battlestar Galactica, so I guess it's time for it to happen to Space: 1999, er... Space: 2099, that is.

1999 page.

2012 Promises
to be a Great Year for Space: 1999
It's Moonbase Alpha time again, Space: 1999 fans! The cult classic Gerry and
Sylvia Anderson live action scifi extravaganza that preceded the Star Wars saga returns again at last, thanks to fabulous
new penmanship from authors John Kenneth Muir and Drew Gaska. With more than a little help from
a slew of talented artists that come together to effectively raise the graphic novel art form to even greater heights than
previously dreamed possible, of course.

Just Another Guy Named Ian?

It seems the number of gifted actors who've contributed
to the creation of the Palpatine character of the Star Wars Universe may soon grow, given the recent passing of beloved
voice, stage and screen actor Ian Ambercrombie.

Wars page.
