1:18 scale figures first made their
North American debut back in the late 1970's with Mego's Micronauts, an Americanized version of Microman, a line of 3.75" figures from a planet known as "Micro Earth." Takara Tomy, the Japanese company that innovated the line was actually licensed by Hasbro to reproduce their 8" and 12" G.I. Joe figure bodies in clear plastic.
(transforming) Cyborgs" eventually provided the inspiration for the 1:18 scale Microman line (that is still
going strong in Japan today) and an ever growing list of 3.75" action figures available the world over.
