1:9 Scale Custom Indiana Jones

Derek Combs' (aka Megospidey's) custom 1:9 scale Indiana Jones utilizes component parts from Zica Toys' standard male body (that was originally designed for the Buck Rogers line of Mego-like figures).  Derek is quite a talented customizer and as one might expect, his work has been featured prominently on the Mego Museum site for quite some time now.  Be sure to check out The Mego Museum for more amazingly detailed and ingeniously designed custom action figures and dolls, stimulating toy related chat and a whole lot more.

In particular, I'm really impressed by the accuracy of the Harrison Ford likeness on this figure.  The sculpt really looks like Indy and the outfit and accessories are quite well executed; something that is often no easy task when working in such a small scale.  Hopefully, we will be able to see widespread production of a figure not unlike this one sometime in the not so distant future.

Other than perhaps Hasbro Toys, I'm not sure which company would be interested in putting out an 8 inch Indy, but it would be nice to see the franchise get a line of figures with cloth clothing that is both accurate and well designed; but at a price point that isn't as inflated and prohibitive as the most recent crop of 1:6 and 1:4 scale offerings from Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles.
